Six lorries which were illegally carrying iron ore were seized by the police at the mining area of Redhill near here on Monday.

Acting on the authentic information that illegal mining was being carried out in the area Sub-Inspector Ramachandra acting on the orders of the tahsildar raided the area.  Six drivers and others escaped from the place when they saw the police. Police have been successful in seizing 51 tonnes of iron ore.
