Freeze, an exhibition of pictorial and wildlife photographs captured the essence of nature portraying its every emotion.
“It’s all about playing with lights and shadows,” says Sathya “It is upto a photographer to find the subject and creatively capture the moment on lens.” Each photograph plays with colours and captivates the looker as it explores every nuance of the subject. ”There is a lack of awareness on pictorial photography. The purpose of holding this exhibition is to inform the mass about the intricacies of pictorial photography,” adds Sathya.
While each picture is taken on the perception of the photographer, Sathya truly believes that a well taken photo is one that creates an impact on the viewer. Having taken up pictorial photography since 1992, Sathya has numerous awards to his credit.
The wildlife photography section of the exhibition captures the creations of nature in finest moments. Tuskers, deer, lions and cheetahs are displayed in the beautiful backdrops of the African and Indian jungles. How much difficult is it taking wildlife photographs? “Wildlife photography is all about luck in the forest. There the subject is not under your control and neither is the light, so it is upto the photographer to make best use of his moment and capture the picture. Wildlife is all about the discipline and love for the animals.”
His belief that instinct helps capture the best photographs has rewarded him with numerous frames to cherish.
“The composition of the photograph is what matters the most”, he adds. Travel, see and snap is the principle followed by C R Sathyanarayana, and this has helped him create magic with light, shadows and cameras.
