PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS
Demolish unauthorised structure for movement

This is regarding the construction of an unauthorised structure obstructing the free passage near Shivananda Stores, Kumara Park East. The triangular bit of land near railway underbridge on Hare Krishna Road is now being used for construction of a building. A borewell is being dug there. Hare Krishna Road is narrow and people are finding it difficult to commute on this road because of heavy traffic.

There is already an old building which is obstructing the traffic. The construction of a new building will definitely cause more hardship. Earlier there was a surprise spot inspection by the then chief minister Dharam Singh. He had promised to clear this road to ease the traffic congestion by evacuating the existing building. It is unfortunate that an additional building is coming up on this road and we apprehend further congestion. As per the earlier instruction, the existing building has to be demolished.

The local authority should be asked to stop the construction and demolish the old building. We are in fact surprised how the plan was sanctioned for construction when there is a proposal to widen these roads to ease congestion. People responsible for this should be booked for negligence, dereliction and undue favouritism.
