Four persons, including an Army officer, have been killed in three separate road mishaps, since Thursday night.
T. Ramappa, the Army officer was riding a bike and would have survived had he worn a helmet, the police said. The Kempapura (HAL) resident, who was to retire next month, had just restarted his vehicle at the traffic signal near Kaveri Emporium on M G Road, when a car rammed his bike from behind. Thrown off the bike, he sustained serious head injuries and died as he was being rushed to hospital. Car driver Kumar has been arrested, said the Ashoknagar traffic police.
In another incident, 4-year-old Sanjay Joseph was killed on the spot when he was run over by a tanker near Kasavanahalli when he was trying to cross the Sarjapur Road. The driver is absconding. Sanjay’s father had come to Bangalore from Chitradurga in search of a job only recently.
Meanwhile, in KR Puram traffic police station limits, a motorcyclist and the pillion rider were killed when an unidentified vehicle bumped into their vehicle. Deepak Kumar (30) and Rasool alias Murthy (20), both residents of Ramamurthynagar, met with their tragic end near the post office on Ramamurthy Main Road.
