An action plan is being prepared for the setting up of 100 bedded yoga and naturopathy hospital in every district and taluk headquarters, said Housing Minister D T Jayakumar.
Addressing a press meet, he said the government will seek the guidance of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade in this regard.
The government will provide land and building for the setting up of naturopathy hospital. The hospital will be handed over to private parties for maintenance. He was in naturopathy hospital in Shanthivana in Dharmasthala for 10 days.
Ownership letter
The minister said the beneficiaries of Ashraya scheme will be distributed with ownership letter instead of title deeds. Accordingly, owners can not sell the house.
He said those who own houses in the forest region will be legalised. A decision in this regard will be taken soon at the Cabinet meeting.
Mr Jayakumr said the State government has plans to construct 6 lakh houses in the State. By constructing 18 lakh houses, Karnataka will be declared as slum free State within two years.
With the help of private partnership, it has been decided to convert the State free of slums before 2015. As per a survey as many as 13 lakh people do not have roof over their head in the State.
He said the government will construct houses under Rajiv Gandhi Vasathi Yojane, Nagarashraya Yojane, Kolache Nirmoolana Mandala and Karnataka Housing Board.
