By-elections to GP seats
By-elections to 46 gram panchayat seats spread over Gulbarga district would be held on June 3.
These seats are spread over 37 gram panchayats in 10 taluks of the district.
While the polls would be held on June 3, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, the counting of votes would be held on June 4, from 8:00 am onwards at the respective taluk headquarters.
By-poll for a single seat is being held in 44 gram panchayats, for two seats in Mannur gram panchayat and eight seats in Yalgi gram panchayat.
Taluk-wise, by-polls for a maximum of 14 seats is being held in Surpur taluk, for six seats in Aland taluk, five in Afzalpur taluk, four each in Jewargi, Shahapur and Gulbarga taluks, three in Chittapur taluk and two in Sedam taluk.
Bus pass sanctioned
The District Disabled Persons’ Welfare officer has stated that 6,000 bus passes for the disabled persons on concessional basis have been sanctioned for Gulbarga district.
Thereby, those interested in availing this pass, should apply with a Rs 250 demand draft (DD) in the prescribed format to the District Disabled Persons’ Welfare Department at the Government Blind School in Gulbarga.
The application should also include a passport size photo, doctor’s certificate, income certificate and a copy of the ration card.
