After the hugely popular ‘Moodalamane’, actress-director Vaishali Kasaravalli is back with ‘Muttina Torana’. At the launch of the serial, the director outlined the story. A tale of perseverance against adversity, ‘Muttina Torana’ has four women protagonists.
While one is an artiste, another is a reputed beauty, yet another is a deaf and dumb girl while the fourth girl is a bespectacled maiden. Conceptualised by Vaishali, the serial features a song by writer Vaidehi as well.
The director has repeated a part of her ‘Moodalamane’ cast in this serial. KSL Swamy (Ravi) and Yamuna Murthy are essaying important roles in this serial too. Both the veteran actors are delighted to work with Vaishali. According to Ravi, he got more recognition by acting in ‘Moodalamane’ than in films!
He became emotional recalling the words of appreciation by none other than annavru Rajkumar, his brother Varadappa, Master Hirannaiah and other stalwarts. Senior actress Yamuna Murthy appreciates Vaishali’s zeal and ability to extract the best out of her cast members.
Vaishali has cast Girija Lokesh and Ananya Kasaravalli along with Lakshmi Hegde in key roles. Producer Basantkumar Patil intends to donate the proceeds from the serial to a religious institution.
Filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli and writer Sudha Murty of Infosys Foundation were present.
