The Karnataka State Dalit Sangarsh Samiti urged Congress to take the lead in forming a secular front in the State along with parties like Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), Left parties, and other parties for keeping the communal forces away from power, here on Saturday.
Making this appeal at a media conference here on Saturday, KSDSS State Convenor D G Sagar stated that the BSP had taken such a lead in Uttar Pradesh, and had been successful in keeping the communal forces from coming to power. “A pro-people, and a pro-development party has come to power in Uttar Pradesh, and this should be emulated in Karnataka too,” he added.
Moreover, he pointed out that, this time, BSP supremo Mayavathi had forged such a combination to come to power, that this included even the Brahmin and other upper castes. “This clearly shows that people would vote only those who stand for development, and not to those involved in creating communal discord in the society,” he added.
