The Karnataka State Dalit Sangarsh Samiti (KDSS-Sagar faction) has announced that a ‘Buddha, Basava, Ambedkar’ rally will be held at Narona in Aland taluk of the district on  May 15.
Speaking to media persons KSDSS State Convenor D G Sagar said, the rally will be blessed by Sri Mahantha Swamy of the Mahanteshwar Mutt, while Agriculture Marketing Minister Sharanabasappagouda Darshnapur, Animal Husbandry Minister Revu Nayak Belamgi, former minister S K Kanta, and others would be participating.
He said ‘Buddha, Basava, Ambedkar’ rally was held every year at Narona. However, all these years it was held only at the Dalit Colony, wherein only the dalits participated in the rally. However, this was for the first time that the rally will be held in the village  with people of all castes and communities participating in it, he added.

Mr Sagar said, all these years it had been a programme organised only by the dalits, and the platform was being used to create awareness only among them.
 However this time, he said, they had thought otherwise, and had decided to hold the rally by taking all sections of the society together, he added.
