The Brahmotsava is one of the most famous ones in the district and people from different parts of the State arrive here to take part. ‘Yatradana’, ‘Mantapadi’ and other ‘utsavas’ will be held as part of the Brahmotsava. The deity will then be taken out in a decorated chariot. The ‘seva’ will be conducted on behalf of the district administration.
Various rituals have begun at the temple as part of the ‘utsava’. On Tuesday, ‘aane utsava’ will be held, ‘sheshavahana’, as also ‘Gajalakshmi’ and ‘mantapa utsava’ are scheduled for Wednesday. ‘Pakshi vahana utsava’ and ‘Gajendramoksha utsava’ are scheduled for subsequent day.
On May 16, ‘abhisheka’ will be performed at the Navagraha Temple.
At 4 pm that day, ‘pallakki utsava’ and ‘kalyanotsava’ will be held. The main event is on May 17, with an ‘annasantarpane’ having been organised. ‘Shanti utsava’ and ‘Nootana Chandramandala utsava’ are slated for the evening that day.
‘Suryamandala utsava’ and ‘shayanotsava’ will be organised on May 18, ‘kudure utsava’ will be held on May 19, while ‘mahabhisheka’ is to be held on May 20. The Brahmotsava will conclude on May 21 with ‘Dodda Garudotsava’.
