The unabated heatwave in the state for the last three days has resulted in the death of 21 people. Sources said eight people died of sunstroke in Khammam, five in Nalgonda, two in Adilabad and one each in Prakasham, Nellore, East Godavari, Medak, Guntur and Krishna districts.
However, State Health and Disaster Management Departments did not confirm if the deaths were caused by sunstroke. According to the Met Department officials here, the heat wave, caused by the north-westerly dry winds blowing across the state, would continue over the coastal belt for a few more days. They also warned coastal districts about the weather conditions.
