Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Mallikarjun Kharge has ruled out possibility of former Chief Minister S Bangarappa’s re-entry into the Congress.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said, “Though there is discussion in political circles on the possibility of Bangarappa’s re-entry into Congress, it is only a ‘hypothesis.’”
Declining to comment further, he said a decision on crucial issues is left to the high command.
Flayed
Coming down heavily on coalition government, he said: “Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has put his self-respect and party’s self-esteem at stake for the sake of power.
However, JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will not allow him to become CM.”
Report
On a section of District Congress leaders announcing a boycott of the party’s public rally, he said the party will seek explanation from leaders.
It may be recalled that objecting to selection of Prasanna Kumar as new President of District Congress Committee, MLA Kumar Bangarappa and former legislators - Dr Narayanappa and Vadnal Rajanna - said they would boycott the Congress rally.
Mr Kharge said a report will be sought from District Congress Committee.
