Dakshina Kannada has lost one constituency (Vittal) after the delimitation of constituencies while three constituencies Ullal, Mangalore and Surathkal have been renamed as Mangalore, Mangalore South and Mangalore North constituencies respectively. However, many areas in the erstwhile Moodbidre, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia constituencies have been included as well as excluded in the neighbouring constituencies. There are a total of 13,26,693 voters who will cast their franchise in 1,271 booths. Women outnumber men in the district. There are 6,88,774 men while there are 7,05,443 women.
