Demanding the withdrawal of provisional selection list of primary school teachers announced recently, D Ed candidates staged a demonstration before the office of the Deputy Deputy Director of Public Instruction
The department had issued the notification on January 25, 2007 for filling-up vacant posts of teachers in Government primary schools and February 15 was last date for submitting filled-in application forms. Candidates were expected to possess original documents in the above said period and it was clearly mentioned in the prospectus. But candidates who completed D Ed in the present academic year and possessing tentative marks list were allowed to attend common entrance test and the names of such candidates have figured in provisional selection list also. The has acted contrary to the notification and has considered those with tentative marks list for the vacant posts, the protesters alleged.
They demanded the department to withdraw the provisional selection list and release a fresh one by rectifying the lapses. Senior D Ed candidates took part in the protest.
