The Indian cricket Board has welcomed the idea of taking inputs from the Indian Metereological Department while finalising its domestic itinerary.
BCCI Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty said weather forecasts would help in avoiding matches being rained out and protect the Board against any huge loss of revenue. “We can shift the venues if we know that there is going to be continuous rain,” Shetty told PTI.
“In 2005, one ODI against South Africa and a Test match against Sri Lanka were washed out by the rains in Chennai. This type of situations could be avoided.”
