Hardly two weeks after the Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) got its Interim Master Plan (IMP) cleared by the state government, land developers have made serious allegations of incompetency and corruption with regard to the plan. Karnataka Land Developers Association (KLDA), on Wednesday, criticised the plan, more than 50 per cent of which, they alleged, was flawed.
“Layouts have been marked in agricultural zones. There are also cases where one particular survey number has been identified for two different land uses,” Dayananda, President, KLDA told reporters.
Full data not given
He said though KLDA had sought comprehensive data on the IMP zoning pattern from BMRDA, the plea had not been addressed.
The association has also demanded a Corps of Detectives (CoD) and Lokayukta probe into the manner in which the plan was prepared, as well as the money spent on the survey.
“Industrial zones are marked adjacent to residential zones, with no buffers in between. Near Dodda Amanikere in Hoskote Taluk, wetlands have been marked as residential zones,” Dayananda said.
He pointed out that six months before the IMP was cleared, CDs depicting the plan were available.
Extension sought
Meanwhile, KLDA General Secretary R V Someswaran said the 15-day period that BMRDA has given to file objections to the IMP was short and said the association had already sought the extension till June 10.
“KLDA should also be represented in the Committee that assesses these objections,” Mr Someswaran said.
The association also urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to intervene and ensure transparency in the way the IMP would be implemented.
Boycotted
Dayananda said KLDA had “boycotted” the ongoing auctioning of recovered government land.
“On the one hand, the government auctions its land to private developers and on the other, it marks poor farmers’ land for parks and public utilities,” he charged.
