The number of Indian students, opting for further studies at popular destinations abroad, has been on a constant rise. For a large section of the student community, getting there has been a problem. Questions such as, how does one prepare for the entrance, which universities or courses does one choose, what score is considered good enough, have always cropped up in the minds of the aspirants. To help tackle these issues a coaching class was born in India in 1995. Jamboree, the brainchild of Akrita Kalra, has now opened its branch in Bangalore.
Jamboree focuses solely on exams that need to be taken for studying abroad. So, if what you need is a guiding hand to take GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL, and IELTS, you know where to head. Vineet Gupta, Managing Director, Jamboree, who was in Bangalore at the launch, says, “A degree from abroad gives even average students exceptional career options.” Which must be why, the year 2006 saw a 19 per cent increase in the number of students taking GMAT and at least 17,000 students appeared for the GRE.
“The demand for studying abroad is driven by the Indian IT industry. Many IT professionals are absorbed by the top schools,” says Vineet. Several Indian schools too are opting for GMAT scores as a selection criterion. These include ISB, Hyderabad, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research and some courses in IIM-A and IIM-C.
“Jamboree’s success rate as far as admissions and visa assistance goes has been 99 per cent so far. Our students have achieved the highest scores from India several times,” claims Vineet. He explains that this could be because this coaching class has used an Indian approach to teaching, believes in multiple hours of training and testing time, provides extensive study material, and other facilities. Add to this the fact that TOEFL and IELTS training is complimentary with any other course taken. The class also offers counselling facilities which include identifying universities, editing SOP’s and essays, preparing resumes and applications and identifying recommender.
Jamboree in Bangalore is at Sharada Plaza, No-56, Ward No 35, 9th Main Road, 3rd Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore:11. The phone numbers are: 41330678, 41330679. New batch intakes happen every month. So if studying abroad is your dream, go on and make it a reality.
