To address the gap in demand and supply of skilled IT professionals, Accenture announced, on Thursday, that it has tied up with Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s office of Professional Education Programs (MIT PEP) to develop Accenture Solutions Delivery Academy, a new training and certification programme based on the company’s application delivery curriculum. Approximately 20,000 Accenture employees are eligible to enroll, of which 4,000 are from India. On successful completion of the programme employees will be awarded “application developer” or “application designer” certifications by Accenture and MIT PEP.
Briefing reporters, Accenture Group Chief Executive (Outsourcing) Kevin Campbell said Accenture’s outsourcing business was under a $1 billion 5-6 years ago was now $7 billion. “Our delivery has to be consistent and this programme is a step in that direction,” he added.
