Herons CC score eight-wicket win
Herons Cricket Club scored an eight-wicket win over Best Club in the Sir M Vishweshwaraiah memorial inter-academy (U-17) cricket tournament on Thursday.
Batting first Best Club could manage 133 for six in their quota of 25 overs. Herons, powered by skipper Arjun Hoysala’s unbeaten 59, reached 135 for two in mere 13.5 overs.
In another match, Kanara Blues defeated Jayanagar Colts by six wickets.

Best Club: 133/6 in 25 overs (Chetan 28, Ujwal 35; Darshan Ponnappa 2-34) lt to Herons CC: 135/2 in 13.5 overs (Arjun Hoysala 59 n.o., Yaswanth 32).
Jayanagar Colts: 119 all out in 24 overs (Veeran 26; Akshay 2-5, Arjun Gowda 2-29) lt to Kanara Blues: 112/4 in 13 overs (Arjun Gowda 34, Bharath Prashanth 34).

Big victory for Jupiter CA
Jupiter Cricketers Association beat Friends Union Cricket Club (2) by 57 runs in the KSCA knock-out tournament for zonal champions on Thursday.
Sunil Kumar was the architect of FUCC’s (2) win returning a five-for-47 haul. After managing a modest 202 for eight in 50 overs, Jupitars bundled out FUCC for a paltry 145 in 39.2 overs.

State-level Twenty20 meet
Karavali Cricketers, Mysore will conduct the State-level Invitation Twenty20 cricket tournament from May 24 to 27 at Mysore and Mandya respectively.
The tournament, which will be conducted under the aegis of the Karnataka State Cricket Association and KSCA Mysore Zonal committee, will be conducted on a knock-out basis.

ADE clinch men’s chess title
ADE won the men’s team chess title in the DRDO South Zone tournament organised by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from May 14-16. CAIR emerged winners in the women’s category.
State junior swimming
Karnataka Swimming Association (KSA) will conduct the state sub-junior and junior aquatic championship from June 4 to 6 at the PM Swim Centre, Jayanagar, Bangalore.
State teams for the Sub-junior Nationals (Goa, June 21-24) and Junior Nationals (Bhopal/Indore, July 4-8) will be selected on the basis of performances at this meet, according to a release from the KSA.

Cricket meet for dental colleges
Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital will organise an inter-dental college cricket tournament from May 25 at Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology Campus.
The tournament is open to all dental colleges in and around Bangalore Zone.
