Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has assured of permanent solution for Handigodu syndrome. Briefing media representatives in the town on Thursday, the chief minister said that a comprehensive plan will be chalked out to rehabilitate patients suffering from Handigodu syndrome.
Mr Kumaraswamy who will stay at Handigodu village on Thursday night said: “My stay in Handigodu is symbolic as it reflects the government’s commitment to address the problem of victims and will instill confidence in them. A committee comprising of senior officials from Health and Social Welfare Departments will be constituted to chalk out plan to find out solution for Handigodu syndrome and rehabilitating the patients,” he informed.
Handigodu syndrome has remained mystery for medical world. Significant break through can be achieved by establishing the reason and source of disease.
The government will provide necessary funds for study and research activities related to Handigodu syndrome, the chief minister assured.
