Workshop for leaders today
The Association for Voluntary Action and Services, in collaboration with Coalition Against Corruption, is holding a workshop for leaders from 14 different slum communities on May 17 at Indian Social Institute at 11 am. The objective is to build awareness on issues of societal corruption, capacitating and building a network of leaders from slum areas to lead the anti-corruption movement. The Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Dr A Ravindra of Government of Karnataka will be the chief guest on the occasion while Joint Commissioner of South Zone Venkatarama N Nayak, Deputy Commissioner of Police Soumendu Mukherjee, BDA PRO T C Kathyayini, Revenue Department’s under secretary Guru Siddaiah will also participate in the function.

Training on candle making
The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka is organising a one-day skill training workshop on decorative and scented candle making on May 28 with practical demonstration and inputs on marketing for budding entrepreneurs. End of mid term  vacation: May 27; Commencement of II semester classes: May 28; Practice teaching: July 28 to September 7; Practical examination: October 8; Last working date for II semester: October 29 and commencement of II semester exam: Nov  13.
