Chintamani’s College of Sericulture is the first of its kind in entire Asia, equipped with scientific facilities, a full-fledged laboratory, and a library.
The course of Sericulture costs around Rs 40,000. However, the college offers scholarships to students and the course also entails an educational tour. Moreover, in the final year the students are given an allowance of Rs 500 in each semester, he explained.
Students with degrees in Agriculture and Sericulture have ample job opportunities in the departments of Agriculture, Sericulture and Watershed Development and in various colleges.
Moreover, 40 posts are available in the departments of Agriculture and Sericulture each. Students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture Science in their PUC can apply for the same. The last date for applying is May 20.

Students belonging to the general category have to pay a fee of Rs 500, while those belonging to SC/ST and Category-1 have to pay Rs 250.
