William skips kin’s wedding
Britain’s Prince William skipped his cousin’s marriage on Saturday at the Windsor Castle to attend another ceremony with his childhood sweetheart, a move that is sure to raise questions over his priorities, reports PTI from London. Meanwhile, Royal sources denied that William was snubbing his family.

Protecting Indian gharial
The Prague zoo has launched a programme aimed at saving the gharial, an Indian fish-eating crocodile, from extinction with a million-dollar pavilion where keepers hope the creatures will reproduce, reports AFP from Prague. “The gharial is one of the most threatened species on the planet,” said Petr Veselsky, in charge of reptiles at the zoo.

Boy George sells T-shirts
Disgraced pop star Boy George has been forced to sell T-shirts for 10 pounds ($20) in east London to make a living, reports IANS from London. To make matters worse, he will face trial in November for reportedly assaulting and imprisoning a male escort.

Hijacker held in Heathrow
An Afghan involved in a hijacking case eight years ago was arrested after he was found working at the busy Heathrow airport as a cleaner, reports PTI from London. Nazamuddin Mohammidy, 34, was among the nine hijackers who had threatened to blow up an internal Afghan flight in 2000 after forcing the aircraft to land at London’s Stansted Airport unless they were granted asylum.

‘Progress’ docks with ISS
A Russian Progress M-64 cargo ship docked on Saturday with the International Space Station, reports AFP from Moscow. Progress is delivering a three-tonne cargo of combustible energy materials, food, medicine, oxygen and water to the station’s three-member crew.

Sen Kennedy hospitalised
Democrat and patriarch of a prominent American political dynasty, has been hospitalised in Boston, a spokesman for a hospital in Cape Cod said, reports Reuters from Boston. Edward( 76) is the youngest brother of assassinated US President John F Kennedy

Man dies at son’s funeral
A seventy-two-year old Bosnian man died from a heart attack during the funeral of his son in the southern city of Mostar, reports AFP from Sarajevo. Rifet Celebic collapsed during the funeral service on Thursday for his 51-year-old son Goran, who had died from a stroke, the Dnevni Avaz daily said. Celebic was buried next to his son.

Kuwait votes for new House
Voters in Kuwait lined up on Saturday to vote in parliamentary elections that could substantially change the legislative body of this oil-rich Gulf emirate following electoral reforms to reduce corruption and vote buying, reports AP from Kuwait city.
