In memory of Rajiv Gandhi
Bangalore, DHNS: Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh, on Saturday, flagged of Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Jyoti yatra in Bangalore. The jyothi was flagged off at KPCC office on Queens Road.

Union minister of State for Planning, Narayanaswamy and others were present on the occasion.

The Jyothi will reach Perambadur in Tamil Nadu, where Rajiv Gandhi was assasinated. The Jyothi will cover Ramanagar, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Satyamangala, Madhurai, Cuddalore, Pondicherry and Chennai before reaching Perambadur.

Three children,  DHNS: :  Three children met their watery grave at a lake near Mallenahalli, where they had gone to graze the cattle on Saturday evening. The deceased have been identified as Kantharaju (15),from Thendakere of Belur taluk; Jagadish (13), and Surya (9),  both hailing from Mallenahalli.

Police said they had gone  for a swim in the lake between Mallenahalli and Agalahalli, when they got stuck in the slushy ditch in the lake and died.
