M Diwakar Babu, who rejoined Congress after ending a brief stint at JD(S), on Saturday announced that he will not contest in any election, hereafter.
Addressing a press conference he said, when he filed his nomination he had frankly told his supporters that it would be his last contest. He would, however, continue in active politics, opposing communal forces and the aggressive Reddy brothers of BJP.
“When I rejoined Congress from JD(S) I had to face a lot of criticism. Several people thought that I would go back to JD(S). I will remain in Congress. I do not want any post. My only aim is to defeat my enemies in BJP,” he said.
