Chinese cos keen on Indian SEZs
New Delhi, DHNS:

At least 25 Chinese companies have evinced interest to partner with Indian firms in developing Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in knowledge and biotechnology sectors.

Hardware parks
Besides, some of the Chinese firms have shown interest to set up hardware technology parks and telecom equipment manufacturing facilities in India, according to Assocham Secretary General D S Rawat.
The interest among the Chinese firms to set up SEZ, technology parks and manufacturing facilities in wide range of industrial activities was conveyed to a Assocham delegation, which visited the Chinese industrial zone of Shenzhen. About 10 Indian companies have already taken initiative for investing in Shenzhen particularly in R&D, biotech and software, Mr Rawat said.

Joint programme
Assocham also agreed to sign an MoU with Shenzhen Computer Industry Association, Shenzhen Trade and Investment Association and Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park to promote two way investment between the two countries. Earlier in Shanghai and Shenzhen, Assocham inaugurated the India-China Business Alliance and it was decided to open yet another China Office in Shanghai, Mr Rawat said.
