Meeting of medical experts and senior officials of Health Department will be convened in next 10 days regarding Handigodu syndrome. Comprehensive plan will be designed in the meeting regarding developing medicine for the disease and rehabilitating the victims, said Speaking after kickstarting development works worth Rs 26 crore, here on Friday, he assured of initiatives from State government to instill confidence among Handigodu patients.
Additional funds will be provided for study and research activities regarding Handigodu disease. Officials will be asked to camp in the hamlet and design action plan for rehabilitating the victims which includes providing pension and allowance, upgrading civic infrastructure in the place among others, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that admission for Government Medical College in the City will begin from current academic year.Regarding the proposed airport at Sogane near the city, he said that land acquisition process will begin within short span of time.
Water Resources Minister K S Eshwarappa who spoke on the occasion said that based on expert committee report which has termed Dandavati project as feasible, State government has instructed for survey of the project. The government is committed for implementation of Tunga lift irrigation and Dandavati projects.
