Vijayakumar Salegar of Sharanabasaveshwara Residential Composite Pre University College, Gulbarga, has topped the district in the PUC Science examinations by scoring 97.33 per cent (584/600) marks.
Rakesh Rangadal has stood second with 96.83 per cent (581/600) and Kashif Shamaz third with 96.33 per cent (567/600).
Kashif Shamaz’s distinction is that he has scored hundred out of hundred in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
He has topped in PCMB with 98 out of 100 in Biology. Vijaykumar has scored 100 out of 100 in Physics and Electronics while Rakesh Rangadal has scored 98 in Hindi. Sachin Hatti has scored 100 out of 100 in Biology and Physics, and 99 in Chemistry. 
In all, seven students have scored full marks in Mathematics, five in Physics, and one each in Chemistry, Biology and Electronics.
The college has posted a highly impressive performance with a passing aggregate of 98.03 per cent. Out of 204 students appearing for the examination, 41 have come out with distinction, 132 first class and 22 second class.

Sri Guru College
Sri Guru Independent PU College of Science has registered 87.36 per cent passes. Nimisha Khandelwal has stood first to the college by scoring an aggregate 94.33 per cent and Mahesh Simpi has scored 99 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Out of 475 students appearing for the examination, 55 have passed with distinction, 280 in first class, and 67 in second class. In PCM combination, 54 students have scored  more than 90 marks and in PCB 38 students have scored more than 90 marks.

SB College tops
Sharanabasaveshwara Independent PU Science College has performed excellently by registering 93 per cent passing results. Out of 71 students, 30 have passed in first class and 35 in second class.
