'Stop animal sacrifice'
The Karnataka Dalit Sangarsh Samithi (Ambedkar Vaada) has demanded the district administration to put a stop to animal sacrifice, prevalent during the Margamma jatra at Honnakiranagi village, coming under the Farathabad police station limits in Gulbarga taluk. The jatra is being held on Tuesday, May 22. The KDSS activists warned that if no measures were initiated, they would forcibly stop animal sacrifice.

TP meeting put off
The general body meeting of the Gulbarga Taluk Panchayat scheduled to be held on May 31 has been postponed due to inevitable reasons,says the release by the taluk panchayat CEO.

Congress protest rally today
The District Congress Committee is holding a rally in protest against the failures of the JD (S)-BJP coalition government on May 19, Saturday, at 10 am.
As many as seven Block Congress Committees coming under the purview of city limits, namely, Kamalapur, Gulbarga (rural), Station Bazar, Shaha Bazar, Makhtampur, Mominpur and Brahmpur will take part in the rally. DCC President Allamaprabhu Patil has asked Congressmen to participate in the rally in large numbers.
