“BJP is making use of the government officials to woo the voters in Ullal. The matter has been brought to the notice of Election Observer Neeraj Guptha, who in turn has assured to issue suo moto notice to the leaders,” said District Congress Committee Vice-President Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing a press meet here on Friday, he said KPCC sub-office will be inaugurated in Mangalore on May 19 by KPCC President Mallikarjuna Kharge. The official campaign will be kicked off in the Ullal region on May 19. Congress leader B L Shankar, AICC Secretary Praveen Dhawar have already arrived in the City to take part in the campaign. Former Chief Minister Dharam Singh, former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah, Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes and former chief minister Veerappa Moily, MP Janardhan Poojary will also be taking part in the campaign.
Former minister Ramanath Rai said that Congress party workers and leaders have already started house-to house campaign. Congress offices will be set up in MCC limits, town panchayat limits and rural areas.
