The proscribed ULFA went on with its latest series of offensive in Assam. The outfit triggered a blast in a busy marketplace at Fancy Bazar in Guwahati on Friday, injuring at least 14 persons.
Police sources said the explosive device was kept hidden in a cycle rickshaw parked near the outer wall of the central jail at Fancy Bazar, one of the busiest trading hubs of the northeastern region. The blast took place at around 11:30 am
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. The conditions of at least three were stated to be critical. This was the current week’s second blast in Guwahati. Earlier, the outfit had triggered a blast at Athgaon on Monday, killing two persons and injuring several others.
