There has been three per cent decrease in the pass percentage in the second year PUC results this year in Kodagu compared to the last year. Kodagu district has secured 66.93 pass percentage. The results have been announced in 40 PU Colleges (except four new PU Colleges) on Friday.
As usual girls and students from rural areas have excelled in the examination. A total of 4,950 students had appeared for the examination. Of which 3,315 students have passed. This includes 1,876 girls (71.63 per cent) and 1,437 boys (61.65 per cent).  As many as 3,236 students have appeared for the examination from the urban areas. Of which 2,087 students (64.49 per cent) have passed. In the rural areas, as many as 1,714 students have appeared for the examination of which 1,226 students have passed registering the pass percentage of 71.53 per cent. 
As many as 286 students have given second appearance in the PU examination. Of which, 133 have passed, registering a pass percentage of 46.5 per cent. As many as 177 students had taken up PU examination in old syllabus. Of which 27 (15.45 per cent) have passed.
Nearly 238 students had appeared for arts stream, of which 49 have passed. In commerce stream, as many as 81 had appeared for the examination of which 37 have passed.  Virajpet taluk has stood first in the district with pass percentage of 78.33 followed by Madikeri (76.37 per cent), Somwarpet (67.52 per cent).

Secures first
N Kshirabdhija of Coorg PU College, Gonikoppalu, has secured first place in the science stream in the district. She has secured 564/600 (94 per cent). Suvina Attavar of the same College has secured second pace in the district by attaining 558 (93 per cent). St Ann’s College student Priyanka has secured third place in the district with 92.5 per cent (555).  In the arts stream, P A Sangeetha of Srimangala PU College has secured first place with 534 marks (89 per cent). Shirangala Government PU College student S G Vishwanath has secured second place (87 per cent) while Cherambane PU College student K K Ramesh has secured third place (86.83 per cent).
In the commerce stream, St Ann’s PU College student N S Drishya has secured first place with 93.83 per cent while St Annamma PU College, Virajpet student Manjesh Bidappa has secured second place with 91 per cent. St Joseph’s PU College, Madikeri  student Rashida has secured the third place with 90.66 per cent.
