Shimoga Cooperative Milk Producers Union(Shimul) has achieved record production of 1,45,672 kilogram milk per day in the month of May.
   Union is operating in Shimoga, Davangere and Chitradurga districts. 714 milk producers societies comes under the purview of the union which has Rs 413.91 lakh share capital. 288 milk societies in Shimoga district are contributing 60,117 litre milk per day, 278 societies in Davangere are contributing 69,214 litre milk while 26,431 milk is produced per day in Chitradurga district where 143 societies are present.
   As much as 60,007 litres of milk is consumed daily in Shimoga, 23,825 litre milk in Davangere while 13,193 litre milk is consumed daily in Chitradurga district.
   Shimoga Milk Union is offering toned milk at Rs 14 per kg, standard milk at Rs 16 per litre, full cream milk at Rs 18 per litreand double toned milk is sold at Rs 12 per litre.
   In addition to this, the union’s daily sale of curd and ghee stands 9,000 litre and 200 litre respectively.
