Two friends, willing to die for each other, face their toughest test in life – both love the same woman. Will their friendship remain the same? More importantly, will love survive the test of friendship?
The storyline offers nothing new. A range of topics including sacrifice and extra marital affairs put in an appearance. In fact, the script is the real villain here. The director is guilty of leading on the audience to good things, before spoiling it all by offering a rather tame and predictable ending.
But the film has several surprises. Ajay has already played the friend distressed over friendship and love. Now, it is Navin’s turn.
The duo compete with each other to score brownie points in acting and the effort shows. Radhika, who in a refreshing turn post Janapada, barely shows her skin here. Kudos to the director for extracting a controlled yet nuanced performance from them. The film could have dispensed with the comedy track, involving Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash. Sundarnath Suvarna’s camera, clean music and interesting choreography all make Amruthavani a delectable mix.
