Raqeeb begins as a love story starring theatre artiste Tanushree Dutta and stinking rich IT man Rahul Khanna. The director then makes it a triangle to accommodate latecomer Jimmy Shergill.
It’s a clash between two men for one woman, you think. No, the figures keep changing as Tanushree doesn’t seem to settle for her bigamous status either.
The shots are stylish, but that is no incentive to endure a blunder, passed off as a thriller. Tanushree’s enmity with clothes continues and she is always undressed to kill. The story often gets stagnated on beaches as the lady is forever in the water.
It is really difficult to drag her out once she takes the plunge. To remind you that it’s a thriller, Anurag “introduces” a gun and gets one killed. But you smell a rat and locate it too, much before the director unwraps his stale surprise. No chills here. So avoid it.
