Khaliq accused of possessing al Qaeda manual
Suspect charged over 7/7 London blasts
From Lee Glendinning, The Guardian, London:
Khalid Khaliq, from Beeston, Leeds, is accused of possessing a document or record, namely the al Qaeda training manual, containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism on July 17 2005, according to Scotland Yard.

A 34-year-old man who was being questioned by anti-terror officers investigating the July 7 bombings has been charged with possessing an al Qaeda training manual.
Khalid Khaliq, from Beeston, Leeds, is accused of possessing “a document or record, namely the al Qaeda training manual, containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism” on July 17 2005, according to Scotland Yard.
Mr Khaliq, the fourth man to be charged in connection with the attacks, will appear at City of Westminster magistrates on Monday. He was arrested on May 9 on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, along with three others, including Hasina Patel, the widow of Mohammad Sidique Khan, the ringleader of the July 7 bombings.
The arrests involved searches of properties in Dewsbury and Batley in West Yorkshire, and a hall of residence at Birmingham University, as part of the ongoing inquiry to identify those who knew of the bomb plot or helped the four suicide bombers.
Ms Patel, 29, who was pregnant with her second child at the time her husband led the attacks, was later released without charge, as were her brother Arshad Patel, 30, and Imran Motala, 22. Khan, 30, Shehzad Tanweer, 22, Jermaine Lindsay, 19, and Hasib Hussain, 18, killed 52 people and injured more than 750 when they blew themselves up in the attack on London’s transport system in July 2005.
Conspiracy
Earlier this year, three men from Beeston were charged with conspiring with the four suicide bombers.
Mohammed Shakil, 30, Sadeer Saleem, 26, and Waheed Ali, 23, who appeared in court in April, are alleged to have been involved in a reconnaissance mission carried out 10 days before the attacks.
They are also alleged to have conspired with the suicide bombers to plan the attacks and target tourist attractions.
