Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday alleged that the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) has mislead the media about the proceedings in the Supreme Court related a case pertaining to the controversial Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.
Reacting to the recent news reports that the Supreme Court had issues notice to the Chief Secretary and others in a contempt plea filed by the NICE against the State, Mr Kumaraswamy said the Court has not issued any directions as reported in the media.
“The NICE has been misleading the Government and now they are misleading you (media) too,” he said while alleging that NICE had “lifted” some government files earlier. He, however, refused to make further comment stating that the matter is subjudice. Mr Kumaraswamy said despite the attempts by NICE to “mislead” the government and others, he is hopeful that the truth and justice prevail at the end.
Meanwhile, State’s counsel in the Supreme Court, Mr Sanjay Hegade, has stated in a press release that a contempt plea filed recently was only clubbed along with a pending petition and the Court has not passed any order, either on the earlier or the present petitions. “The news reporters are incorrect and appear to have been the consequence of false information deliberately provided by the NICE representatives, said Mr Hegade.
