Worlds largest combustor from L&T
Mumbai, DHNS:
Main features of this one of the world's largest FCC Regenerators & Combustors are a 16.3 metre diameter, an overall length of 40 metres and weight of 1320 MT.

Larsen and Toubro Limited's (L&T) Heavy Engineering Division - Hazira Works, on Tuesday unveiled  one of the world's largest FCC Regenerators & Combustors (in the picture above) it has built for for Reliance Petroleum Limited's (RPL) export oriented refinery coming up at Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The equipment is considered to be the heart of the RPL's refinery, which is billed as the fifth largest in the world.
The main features of this equipment are a 16.3 metre diameter, an overall length of 40 metres and weight of 1320 MT.
The material of construction for this equipment is carbon-manganese steel with more than 170 MT of stainless steel internals. L&T received the order for this equipment in November 2005 and the delivery date was July 2007.   L&T manufactured this equipment in a record time and is delivering it 6 weeks ahead of schedule.
The seamless execution of the project once again proves L&T's capability in fabricating such large equipment utilizing hi-tech fabrication techniques.
