Union Bank of India would focus on the small and medium enterprises (SME) and retail sectors for credit disbursements in this financial year, a bank official said.
On the basis of the business plan, finalised by the bank, a dedicated set of branches had been identified to look after the SME sector, the official added. He said a centralised processing system for credit disbursements to this sector would be put in place and also a separate system for the retail sector to look after speedy approval of loans.

During the year, the bank would also focus on mobilising current account savings account deposits.
The disbursement figures for SME, agri and retail sectors during the year for the region were Rs 925 crore against Rs 720 crore last fiscal, Rs 1,013 crore (Rs 750 crore) and Rs 1,800 crore (Rs 1,400 crore) respectively.
