SP protests against anti-people policies
DH News Service, Davangere:

Protesting against the anti-people policies of the Centre and State governments, the Samjawadi Party city unit workers staged a demonstration in front of the city corporation on Tuesday.
The UPA government soon after coming to power had raised the prices of cooking gas, kerosene, petrol, diesel and adopted anti-people policies. It has failed to contain terrorism. Apart from this the Central government is showing a step-motherly attitude towards the State government.
Biased stand
Regarding the Cauvery issue the people are understanding the Centre’s biased stand. Even the MPs from the State are not raising their voices against the Cauvery verdict, said the protesters.
Even the JD(S) and BJP coalition government had failed to fulfil the demands of the people. The district in-charge ministers have failed to develop the respective districts.
The lives of the farmers, agriculturists and the common man has reached a nadir, they said.
No BPL cards
In spite of the poor farmers applying for installing pumpsets no steps have been taken.
Those living below the poverty line have not received the BPL or Anthodaya cards. Instead every benefit is reaching those who are already having all the facilities, they charged.
The district unit president H B Shivayogi, City unit president S B Shaheen, State secretary H M Siddeswara Murthy, State SC/ST secretary H Krishnamurthy, District Mahila unit president Geetha Murugesh, H Imtiaz Baig, Balraj Eriseeme, K B Allamiah Sab and other leaders led the protest.
