Call to improve civic amenities
District Committee of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) has urged the civic authorities to take immediate steps for improving the deteriorating civic conditions in Shantaveer Nagar in Gulbarga city.
The SUCI has met the Nagarapalike authorities to prevail upon them on the need for improving basic amenities in the area. SUCI District Secretary H V Diwakar has warned to chalk out agitational programmes if neccessary steps are not taken within two days.
Meanwhile, the Nagarika Hitarakshana Samithi of Hire-Roza in Gulbarga has demanded the fitting up of a water pump to the open well at the Kumbar Oni, setting up of community taps in the area, increasing the depth of the borewell situated near the SBH Darga Branch to 1,000 feet and drilling of four new borewells in the area.
Entrepreneurial training
The Department of Minorities intends to offer entrepreneurial training to educated unemployed candidates belonging to minority community in computers, pilot, professional air hostess, hospitality management, garment designing, etc. Application forms can be obtained from Director, Minority Department, Bangalore. Details can be obtained from the Office of the Backward Class and Minority Welfare in the districts.
Special ZP meet
A special general body meeting of the zilla panchayat has been convened on May 25 at the Zilla Panchayat meeting Hall at 11 am. The meeting will be presided over by ZP President Saibanna Neelappagol.
