Karnataka Rakshana Vedike will organise a jatha from Kundapur to Kasargod and place a placard in Kasargod, to declare the district as part of Karnataka on May 29, informed Vedike State President Shivarame Gowda.
Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, he informed that over 1,000 volunteers from various parts of the State will participate in the jatha.
The Vedike will demand implementation of Mahajan Commission report immediately, making nameplates written in Kannada compulsory in border areas, special projects for border residents, reservation for residents in the border region in higher educational institutions and government posts, making celebration of Rajyotsava compulsory there and oppose withdrawal of reservation provided by the State goverment for students living in border areas in Pre University colleges, Mr Shivarame Gowda added.
