Karnataka students have come out with flying colours in the Class XII Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), results of which were declared on Wednesday.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) of the Bangalore region have clocked a pass percentage of 98.2. That’s an improvement of 1.54 per cent compared to last year.
The Bangalore region which consists of Karnataka, Goa and a part of Kerala have 45 CBSE schools of which 35 have class XII as well. A total of 2,133 students appeared for the examinations of which 2,096 have passed.
Education Officer and Officiating Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, (Bangalore Region), Mrs Lakshmi Chari said the high results were achieved despite constrains.

Part-time teachers
“There were vacancies in important subjects like Chemistry and we had to find part-time teachers to fill in”, she says.
Fifteen schools have cent per cent results, of which the KVs in Hebbal, National Aeronautics Limited, Rail Wheel factory have secured 100 per cent results in Bangalore. The KVs in Bellary, Bidar, BEML (Kolar), Sambra, Belgaum Cantonment, Dharwad, Hubli No 1, Kudremukh, Mangalore No 1, Mysore and Kasargod 1 and 2 have cent per cent results.
The Science pass per cent for the KVs of the region is 98.08 per cent, Commerce 99.71 per cent and Arts 95.59 per cent.
The Principal of KV at MEG, Sai Ranga Rao said for the last three years the Bangalore region has been topping amongst the all KVs in the country.
Many of the other CBSE affiliated schools in Bangalore too had 100 per cent result. Army Public School had 100 per cent results with Ankita Bansal topping the school in the Commerce stream with 91 per cent. Krishan Chaubey topped the school in the Science stream with 89 per cent and Suchinda Chaudhary topping in the Arts stream in the school with 79 per cent. Principal Manjula Raman said only in English the results are much lower than expected. Bangalore Military School too had cent per cent results with Rakesh Raman topping the school with 86 per cent and Hari Om coming a close second with 85 per cent.
CMR National Public School had cent per cent results with 99 per cent of their students scoring distinctions. The overall average of the results is 84 per cent with Ewin Davis topping the school with 94 per cent and Aditi Gupta and Suryashree with 91 per cent coming standing second in the school.

Morale booster
Its a morale booster to top the school, said Ewin. “I did not swot all the time, rather gave a 100 per cent whenever I picked up the books”, he revealed. Nisha of National Public School-Rajajinagar topped the school with 95.6 per cent.
Venkat International Public School too had cent per cent results with Subra Ghosh topping the school in the Science stream with 95 per cent and Tejal Bhagat standing second with 91 per cent.
