UP CM prefers not to dance to filmstars tunes
New Delhi, PTI:

Unlike her predecessor Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati prefers to keep filmstars at an arms length.
“I keep off these filmstars. You must have seen that BSP was the only party that did not use any film artiste during election,” she told a television channel.
Instead of using people from the film line, “I will prepare people from other walks of life to take on campaigning,” said Ms Mayawati.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, his wife and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan, actress Jaya Prada among others were seen campaigning for the party during the elections, in which the Samajwadi Party lost to the BSP. Mayawati said her government will not act under any political motivation and vendetta but “as per the wishes of the common man of Uttar Pradesh.”
“We will investigate illegal activities that have happened and will take action against those found guilty,” she told a private television channel. The BSP chief expressed confidence that people joining her party will adjust and accept the ideology of the BSP.
“People coming from other parties to the BSP will take some time to adjust to the ideology. Slowly, they will adjust and accept the ideology of the BSP and their past misdeeds will be washed away,” she said, adding, “this is also a kind of social reform.”
Commenting on those involving in disturbance of peace and illegal activities, Ms Mayawati added, “be it Raja Bhaiyya or anybody else, they will not be spared.”
