Bangalore is expected to have the south India wing of National Gallery of Modern Arts by July. Manikyavelu Mansion on Palace Cross Road has been identified for the gallery.
Artist S G Vasudev said, “It has been a long-pending demand. The execution of the project has been delayed further even after the Centre agreed to it. It seems all hurdles have been cleared.”
Senior artist Yusuf Arakkal said there is a possibility of dumping garbage in the name of modern art in the gallery. State artists should be ready even to stage protest.”
