With confirmation of the news that Bangla refugees are hiding in the Kaiga area, the rumours that some strangers have been moving in and around the Kaiga Nuclear Plant area got a new turn.
Are refugees from Bangladesh taking shelter in Kaiga Nuclear plant area? Reliable sources say ‘Yes’ and the district police are planning to launch a massive combat operation in the area to nab the intruders into the country.
With confirmation of the news that Bangla refugees are ‘hiding’ in the Kaiga area, the rumours that some ‘strangers’ have been moving in and around the Kaiga Nuclear Plant area got a new turn. Sources say that the ‘strangers’ who were seen suspicioulsy moving must be Bangla refugees.
The police are also believing that those ‘aliens’ may be from Bangladesh.
There are thousands of workers working in the Kaiga area. Of them, there are four Bangladesh refugees, sources say.
The police will conduct an identification parade on Sunday. This would verify authenticity of the rumours.
The police had launched combat operation in Mallapur police limits six months ago when some strangers waylaid and threatened a labour contractor, Premanand Naik.
But the police did not get any clue about presence of Bangladeshis in the area. Even an employee who was also threatened by the strangers did not spell out anything about the miscreants. This is puzzling the police investigating the case.
The police have been continuosly monitoring movements of the workers in the area after the Premanand Naik’s incident.
In the last week they visited 15 villages around Kaiga and collected background information about people residing there.
Even the police took the the employee who was threatened by the strangers along with them to identify the strangers who threatened him.
Now the police are suspecting that those four refugees might have taken shelter in labour camps and they have decided to thoroughly search the camps on Sunday to find out if there are any refugees hiding there. ‘Only rumours’ Some officers in the police department say that the incident of threatening labour contractor Naik is a fake and concocted story. Even the employee’s version also does not hold water as there are many loose ends in his version.
“But we can not jump to the conclusion so early. It needs time find out the truth and we want to investigate the case thoroughly as it involves sensitive issues,” a police officer said.
