Kalasipalya police recently arrested four persons on charges of hatching a conspiracy to burgle houses on N R Road and surrounding areas. The police also recovered lethal weapons from the accused.
The accused, all from Tamil Nadu, have been identified as Anand (30), a resident of Ramnagar, Subramani (32) of Tirunamali and V Shanmugam (40) of Tirunamali, Murthy (38) of Veeraragyam. Two other accused Shivakumar and Ravichandran are absconding.
Acting on a definite tip off, the police arrested them near a flyover on N R Road when the accused were discussing their modus operandi.
The accused were involved in many theft cases. They had burgled many laptops and suitcases kept inside the cars in busy areas. They would throw a few currency notes near the parked car to divert the attention of the car owners. When the owners would come out of the cars to pick the notes, they would burgle the laptops and suitcases and abscond. They have been remanded to judicial custody, the police said.
