Theatre course for kids
K V Subbanna Apta Rangamandira has launched a theatre course for children aged between 9 and 15 years. It will be held from June 17 to December 16. ‘Green’ contest

The Centre for Green Building Materials and Technology is holding a two-day programme on ‘Sustainable Living - 07’ at Cubbon Park starting July 7. The programme will include a painting competition for children between 6 and 12 years on the theme of global warming,  quiz competition for children between 12 and 17 years, essay competition on sustainable living for students, IT professionals and public, design competition for architecture students and architects and a panel discussion on sustainable living, global warming and climate changes. Graduation Service
Life Challenge Trust will on Saturday organise a graduation service for the students of its rehabilitation centre for alcoholics and substance addicts. The service will be held at the Campus Crusade for Christ, Kacharakanahalli (near Jyothi College), Lingarajapuram. The students will present various items as part of the graduation service, that will also feature sessions on alcoholism and substance abuse.
The rehabilitation centre runs a one-year residential course for drug addicts and alcoholics aged 18 years and above. The trust already has two other centres in Vellore (Tamil Nadu) and Manipur. It plans to open two more centres in Nagaland and Myanmar by the end of June. For more details on the trust, call 25455581.

Niketana building launched 
Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswami of Sringeri Shankar Mutt laid the foundation stone for the construction of Sri Bharathi Theertha Niketana building on 6th main, Malleswaram, on Friday. The construction has been taken up on the occasion of centenary celebrations of the Mutt. The building comprises a meditation hall and a yoga research centre.
