The successor to Valmiki Gurupeetha of Rajanahalli will be selected next month announced president of successor selection committee chairman Satish Jarkiholi.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, he said, four persons have been identified to take over as guru and the final selection will be made next month at a meeting of leaders of Valmiki community at Rajanahalli. He also said that he has been touring the State with regard to selection of successor and to organise Valmiki community.
There are intentions of starting mutt branches at Mysore, Hubballi, Hospet, Gulbarga and Raichur. All these will function under Rajanahalli guru peetha. The branch heads will be selected after the selection of the successor to gurupeetha, he said.
Valmiki community leaders will be requested to start educational institutions in each taluk to promote education among the community children, he said.
