Swimming pool to be ready soon
Gulbarga, DHNS:

Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Alkod Hanumanthappa said here on Friday that the international standard swimming pool coming up at the Sri Chandrashekar Patil Stadium Complex in the City would be completed within next two months.
The minister on Friday visited the stadium complex and inspected the development works being taken up there.
Speaking to media persons during the inspection, the minister noted that this swimming pool was being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.82 crore. Under this, a main swimming pool with international standards, a diving pool, and a children’s pool was coming up. "So far, Rs 85 lakh had been spent on this," he said.
He stated that the Union Government had assured to give Rs 60 lakh for this and of this Rs 30 lakh had already been released. Moreover, while the Gulbarga Urban Development Authority (GUDA) and the Gulbarga Mahanagara Palike (GMP) had provided Rs 10 lakh each, MLC Amatappa Kandkur had provided Rs six lakh under his local area development fund.
As another Rs 40 lakh was needed to complete this, the minister directed Deputy Commissioner Pankajkumar Pandey to send a proposal immediately, so that he could release the amount at the earliest.
The minister also inspected the lawn tennis complex, the new squash complex coming up at a cost of Rs 6.9 lakh, the basketball ground, the sports hostel, indoor stadium, and other works going on.
